Helping my Child at School

Home-School Communication

Most problems in school are easily solved. Please keep in touch and let us know if there's anything we can do to help.

Sharing Books

All children in P1-3 have a 'Sharing Book' for home-school communication. Please check your child's sharing book daily and make a note of anything you need to tell us.

Parents' Evenings

Parents' Evenings are held in November and March. We'll write to you ahead of them to allow you to request an appointment time. Teachers will use this time to update you on your child's progress and next steps. Parents can ask questions and find out more about how to help their children at home.

Homework

All children in the school receive regular homework so please check schoolbags daily. The class teacher will happy to answer any questions you have about prescribed tasks.

If homework is becoming difficult please let us know.

We work closely with Volunteer Tutors Organisation who offer free 1:1 tutoring. VTO currently run a homework club after school on Tuesday afternoons.

Their website can be accessed at: http://www.vto.btck.co.uk/

Parentzone Scotland

Education Scotland offer lots of useful information for helping your child with their learning on their Parentzone site: http://www.educationscotland.gov.uk/parentzone/learningathome/index.asp
